The Brooklyn Navy Yard

The Brooklyn Navy Yard is a shipyard located in Brooklyn, New York, acquired in 1801, and the property became an active U.S. Navy shipyard responsible for building some of the greatest warships the U.S. has known. At its peak, during World War II, the yard employed 70,000 people, 24 hours a day.
The Yard now has become an area of private manufacturing and commercial activity. In 2014 the entire yard was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district,
